Individual Psychotherapy

Picture
"When you begin to touch your heart or let your heart be touched,  you begin to discover that it's bottomless,  that it doesn't have any resolution,  that this heart is huge,  vast,  and limitless.   You begin to discover how much warmth and gentleness is there,  as well as how much space.”
~ Pema Chödrön
Individual psychotherapy is for anyone of any age who may be experiencing difficulty or distress who feels they would benefit by talking in confidence to someone who is not a friend or family member.

Issues you may be struggling with include:
  • Relationship & Intimacy Difficulties
  • Depression
  • Anxiety or Panic
  • Loss or Grief
  • Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Self-esteem and Self blame
  • Loneliness
  • Shame and Guilt
  • Perfectionism
  • Anger and Defensiveness
  • Conflict Avoidance
  • Boundary Issues
  • Attachment
  • Family Conflict
  • Adoption Related Issues
  • Addictions
  • Asperger's
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders
  • Behavioral Issues
  • Developmental Disorders
  • Eating Disorders

In a safe, contained and non-judgmental space, you are offered the freedom to explore issues relating to your past and present experience with the intention of:
  • Increasing self-awareness and understanding
  • Increasing self-awareness and understanding of self in relation with others
  • Increasing awareness of options to change
  • Increasing ability to act for change where this is desired

Patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving are formed early in life in relationship and can become fixed in ways that are unhealthy or self-limiting. These restrictive, habitual patterns may affect the choices that seem available to you and limit the potential you have for healthy relationships and a fulfilling life.

Through the conscious and intentional use of relationship, I will help you unravel and understand the ways in which you can transform   fear, despair, self-limiting choices, and destructive behaviours into opportunities for personal growth. Our work together will help you expand your possibilities, realize a more authentic way of living, and have more fulfilling and meaningful relationships.
