Healing the Wound of Separation
                ~Awakening into the Heart of our Inseparable Nature~
A Non-Residential Relational Dharma Weekend Retreat with Jeannine Davies, PhD
~~~~~~~
The experience of disconnection - from ourselves and each other - and the various forms of suffering that occur as a result, is a painful reality within our current culture.  The practice(s) of Relational Dharma train us in the development of compassionate, mindful awareness within our experience in relationship – to our self and with others.  Mindful awareness supports the capacity to be present to what is actually happening in our moment-by-moment experience versus being caught in reactive and/or destructive patterns (often conditioned from the past), which can lead to interpersonal struggles such as conflict, guilt, blame, mistrust, shame, unworthiness, disconnection and isolation. When mindful awareness becomes relational, a view into the dharma of relationship is revealed in our ordinary lives.  This illumination allows for whole new ways of seeing, being, and relating to become possible– and our relationships (whether with a partner, lover, friend, parent, etc.), become a profound path of practice - to reconnect to ourselves and each other, heal the wounds of our suffering, and evolve greater understanding, love, wisdom, and mutual freedom.
 As these new ways of being, relating, and seeing are cultivated, a new atmosphere emerges where it becomes possible to recognize, and gain insight - into how/why particular interpersonal struggles emerge (such as fear of separation or abandonment; alienation, loneliness, disconnectedness; fear of commitment, engulfment, or feeling trapped; anger, blame; shame and self-worth issues, etc.), and allows for understanding into their causes.  From this fresh understanding, emotional healing occurs, and higher stages of relationship, to oneself and others that go beyond the ego, and belief in a separate self, become possible.
 This therapeutic non-residential retreat invites a deep exploration of Relational Dharma, offering the transformational opportunity of ‘relationships as a sacred spiritual path’.  It is designed for those who want to bring mindful awareness to their experience of themselves, and in relationship to others, for the purpose of exploring new ways of relating, deepen their relationships, and transform struggles such as disconnection, fear of intimacy, self-doubt, depression, anxiety and grief into insight, joy and freedom.  Through meditative guidance and experiential processes, we will practice ways to enhance emotional transparency, self-acceptance and compassion with self and others. The overall benefit of this retreat experience supports recognition of ones basic goodness, emotional healing, self-compassion, a renewed sense of belonging, and generates new ways of being and relating authentically with self and others through the joy of being fully human.
"Jeannine's command of Buddhist theory, along with her extensive personal experiences,
combine to form her model of "Relational Dharma," a contemporary re-envisioning of the
Buddhist doctrine of "dependent origination" as a means of realization through relationship.
Her work is masterful."
